The information on this page details the criteria and requirements for award eligibility in September 2027.

For the 2026-2027 Year

1. Criteria awards are given to each and every 4-H Member who meets the criteria set for the award.
2. Below are checklists for each Criteria Award for informational purposes.
3. Award level is based on grade level for the 2026-2027 school year.
   1. Beginners (Cloverbuds) – Kindergarten through 2nd grade
   2. Juniors – 3rd grade through 5th grade
   3. Intermediates – 6th grade through 8th grade
   4. Seniors – 9th grade through 12th grade
4. All criteria Requirements and Select Items  must be completed from June 2026 through May 2027, with the exception of the Letterman and Senior Awards.
5. Letterman and Senior Awards Requirements and Select Items must be completed during the 4-H Member’s 9th, 10th, and 11th grade years.

7. Download your applicable checklist(s) below to use as a guideline for your achievements throughout the year.
8. Record Books – For award consideration, Record Books will be due in June 2027, on a date to be announced in April 2027.
9. Online applications will become available in April/May 2027, with due dates announced at that time.

AWARD CRITERIA CHECKLIST BY AGE

Online applications will open in May 2027, with the date announced in April 2027. The following Criteria Checklists are just for INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES

Requirements and Select Items have been updated since last year, so please check the list closely.

Rookie – 4-H Members from 3rd Grade through 12th Grade

• 2027 Rookie Award Checklist – First-year 4-H Members, Juniors, Intermediates, and Seniors are eligible. Eligibility is only for the first year that a member is active, between the levels of 3rd grade and 12th grade.

Beginner/Cloverbud – 4-H Members in Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade

• 2027 Clover Award Checklist – Eligible to apply each year they are in this age bracket and active in 4-H. Requirements must be completed during the application year

 

Junior – 4-H Members in 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, and 5th Grade

• 2027 Honor Roll Award Checklist – Eligible to apply each year they are in this age bracket and active in 4-H. Requirements must be completed during the application year

Intermediate – 4-H Members in 6th Grade, 7th Grade, and 8th Grade

• 2027 All Star Award Checklist – Eligible to apply each year they are in this age bracket and active in 4-H. Requirements must be completed during the application year

Senior Awards – 4-H Members in 9th Grade, 10th Grade, 11th Grade, and 12th Grade

• 2027 Letterman Award Checklist – Eligible for active 4-H Members who have completed the 9th, 10th or 11th grade. Application can be made during any of the three years, but the Award can only be received once. Requirements may be completed during any of the Member’s active 9th, 10th, or 11th grade years.
• 2027 Senior Award Checklist – Eligible for active 4-H Members who will be graduating in 2027. Requirements may be completed during any of the Member’s active 9th, 10th, or 11th grade years.
